Job summary

Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon seeks a Construction EHS Engineer to lead safety and environmental health initiatives across fab construction projects. The role requires a strong background in EHS within construction, a minimum five years of experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders to achieve safety excellence on-site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Civil/Mechanical/Chemical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of Construction EHS experience or equivalent compliance program work.
  • 3+ years of audits, inspections and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Set vision and drive construction EHS excellence across fab construction activities.
  • Ensure EHS services on projects to support safe planning, startup, construction and handover.
  • Coach construction management to align with Intel EHS policies.
  • Lead EHS audits, measure KPIs and drive best-in-class results.

The Role and Impact

As a Construction EHS engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the EHS Construction Manager, set the vision, strategic direction and drive construction EHS excellence across the company for fab construction activities. Assist in planning and managing construction EHS objectives to support the company's strategic growth plans.
  • Ensure construction EHS services are available and implemented on construction projects to facilitate the safe planning, start up, construction, commissioning and handover of buildings and facilities.
  • Deliver guidance and coaching to construction management to ensure site actions are in alignment with Intel's corporate EHS policies.
  • Implement construction EHS audits and self assessments to ensure programs meet or exceed all Intel and legal requirements. Measure and monitor construction EHS benchmarks, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet company wide goals and objectives and drive best in class results for fab construction projects.
  • Drive the implementation of programs and initiatives to foster a strong construction safety culture. Implement construction Safety Self assessments to evaluate culture and recommend improvements to management.
  • Identify and coordinate construction EHS training to meet regulatory requirements and improve construction EHS awareness; performance across the company.
  • Plan, resource, and direct activities in the organization to meet schedules, standards, and cost.
  • Foster a team culture in which safety, operational excellence, and results orientation are the foundation. decision-making skills and the ability to build respect and influence at all levels. Manage a team of EHS. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Construction EHS field or demonstrated experience implementing and executing environmental compliance programs.
  • 3 + years of Proficiency in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in EHS, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Construction EHS field, especially in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing construction.
  • Experience with air compliance programs, permits, and relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results by engaging and leading partners internal and external to the company.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills to clearly present technical topics to diverse audiences.
