Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Global Commodity Specialist to advance strategic sourcing across designated core commodity categories. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and site teams to deploy global commodity strategies and support cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and supply continuity.

The role requires analytical excellence, ERP experience, and collaboration across multiple sites, with travel ~30%.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical capabilities in cost analysis, cost modeling, PPV, VA/VE, or should-cost analysis.
• Understanding of contract management principles, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
• Knowledge of global supply markets, commodity dynamics, and supply chain risk.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar data analysis and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Aerospace & Defense regulatory requirements, including ITAR/EAR, preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Travel approximately 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing projects under the direction of the Global Commodity Senior Manager.
• Manage end-to-end RFx processes: supplier identification, market analysis, bid solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendations.
• Support global sourcing initiatives including supplier consolidation, resourcing, new business opportunities, and license support.
• Identify and deliver cost-reduction opportunities through PPV, VA/VE, should-cost analysis, competitive sourcing, and negotiation.
• Support development, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management of global supplier agreements.
• Manage contract lifecycle activities, including pricing updates, amendments, and compliance tracking.
• Ensure alignment with commercial terms, legal requirements, and supply chain risk mitigation objectives.
• Provide market intelligence, commodity insights, and risk information to stakeholders.
• Support development and refinement of global commodity strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive supplier business reviews and improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and cross-functional teams to execute initiatives.
• Serve as an interface between Global Sourcing and site stakeholders to enable effective execution.
• Assist deployment of global sourcing decisions across Ontic locations.
