Job summary

Google's Commodity Managers in Austin, TX collaborate with Engineering to secure supplies for cutting-edge AI and infrastructure projects. You will shape sourcing strategies, engage early with suppliers, and drive cost-competitive, reliable supply for board-mounted power modules in a rapidly expanding hardware ecosystem.

You will lead multiple supplier programs, balance cost, quality, and delivery, and report progress to senior leadership as Google scales its global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules (e.g., POL converters, VRMs, IBCs, or PMICs), including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and collaborate with engineering on early engagement, aligning supplier roadmaps for VPD and IBC modules.
• Manage multiple suppliers and programs, negotiating complex agreements to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and scalable supply assurance.
• Direct cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, speed-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Oversee critical supply chain operations - including production schedules, capacity planning, and operational flexibility - while reporting status and risks to executive leadership.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate continuity risks via regular business reviews, leveraging deep market intelligence to optimize procurement strategies.
