Job summary

Google in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to lead sourcing strategy for board-mounted power modules, and drive supplier selection to optimize total cost of ownership across our global infrastructure. You will partner with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to balance innovation, cost, quality, and delivery while negotiating complex agreements and managing multiple suppliers.

• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules, including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and collaborate with engineering on supplier roadmaps for VPD and IBC modules.
• Manage multiple suppliers and programs, negotiating complex agreements to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and supply security.
• Direct cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, speed-to-market, cost, quality and delivery.
• Oversee production schedules, capacity planning, and operational flexibility while reporting status and risks to leadership.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate continuity risks via regular business reviews and market intelligence.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules (e.g., POL converters, VRMs, IBCs, or PMICs), including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or MBA in a technical or engineering field.
• Experience with power electronic components, printed circuit boards, surface mount technologies and associated manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of board mounted power devices, including VPDs (Vertical Power Delivery), and IBCs (Intermediate Bus Converter) modules.
• Technical understanding of existing and evolving architectures of board mounted power devices.
