Job summary

Google is seeking a Commodity Manager in the US to optimize total cost of ownership for our global infrastructure. You will manage rack power devices and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, partnering early with engineering to align roadmaps with needs.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership and continuous supply improvements. As part of the AI and Infrastructure team, you will help enable cutting-edge technology at scale, balancing cost, quality, and delivery across multiple

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience in commodity management or sourcing with data center rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, including agreement negotiations, pricing negotiations, assurance of supply, capacity planning and supplier development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple suppliers and programs for rack power devices (PSUs, PDUs, power shelves), negotiating agreements to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and scalable supply.
  • Support sourcing strategy development, partnering early with engineering to align supplier technology roadmaps with infrastructure needs.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, time-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Oversee operational execution including schedules, capacity planning, and supply flexibility while communicating performance metrics and risks to leadership.
  • Mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities and drive continuous improvement via regular business reviews, applying deep market and industry intelligence to sourcing decisions.

Job description

In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Benefits for this role include:

Minimum qualifications

  • Experience with rack power conversion or power back-up manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with new and evolving power technologies in the data center space.
  • Experience with data center and rack power conversion commodities: Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Rectifiers/Power Supply Units (PSUs), and power shelves.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
