Job summary

Joyson Safety Systems in Mexico is seeking a Buyer, Commodity to manage sourcing strategies and supplier relationships for automotive tier-1 components. The role emphasizes cost optimization, global/regional strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate should have a degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration and proven experience in commodity buying with strong cost analysis and negotiation skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• College/University degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or comparable studies (preferable with a major in Purchasing management).
• Demonstrated experience as Commodity buyer with emphasis in a comparable commodity with strong cost analysis and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and cost modeling tools.
• Excellent business English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the best price on a global supply market for assigned commodities.
• Develop a comprehensive global and regional commodity purchasing strategy (3–5 years).
• Lead global/regional implementation of the commodity strategy in each region.
• Represent the global/regional commodity towards suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Execute annual price negotiations to achieve budget savings/PPV targets.
• Perform cost breakdowns and build cost models to validate quotes.
• Drive value engineering to meet design-to-cost objectives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, and Finance on new launches.
• Monitor market trends and mitigate supply chain risks.
