Job summary
Dematic is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our international team in Grand Rapids. You will develop PLC programs (Allen-Bradley) and manage databases for performance, while leading on-site commissioning to ensure flawless integration and high system performance.
A hybrid work model is offered when not on-site, with up to 85% travel to customer sites worldwide. You’ll work with global clients and partners, contribute to safety documentation, and help advance automated sortation systems
Qualifications
- 2+ years of automation/industrial experience or commissioning roles.
- Bachelor-level or equivalent in electronics/electrical/automation/IT.
- Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Build PLC programs from ground up, selecting hardware and protocols.
- Design and implement PLC/SCADA to interface sorter with conveyors.
- Create and maintain safety docs, risk assessments, and validation procedures.
- Perform offline commissioning and document test results and deviations.
- Support online commissioning, fix communication issues, optimize performance.
