Job summary

Ciena is seeking a senior commercial strategy and finance leader to drive high-value opportunities across the GCN region. You will shape pricing, governance, and contract strategies, collaborating with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to deliver executable commercial solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in financial modeling, P&L analysis, and cross-functional leadership, with readiness to travel within the GCN Region and manage multi-year arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 10+ years in commercial management, finance, or pricing with global/matrixed exposure.
• Experience applying P&L analysis, financial modeling, pricing, margin optimization, cash-flow and working-capital assessment.
• Experience reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating complex commercial contracts and linking provisions to outcomes.
• Record of leading cross-functional, high-risk issues from discovery to closure under time pressure.
• Executive-level stakeholder influence, analytical thinking, negotiation, and governance skills.
• Advanced use of Excel/PowerPoint to build executive-ready analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial activities for GCN customers and translate objectives into deal strategies.
• Lead complex opportunities including renewals, new business, and multi-year arrangements.
• Drive commercial matters to closure by defining issues, evaluating options, and assigning owners.
• Develop and assess financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses.
• Set pricing and negotiation strategies, review contracts, identify risks, and establish mitigations.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership and lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
• Establish regional pricing frameworks, governance standards, and monitor deal performance.
