Job summary

Twist Bioscience is seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to scale and optimize our global commercial functions. You will lead cross-functional process improvements, oversee sales and project management operations, and partner with executive leadership to drive scalable growth with an insights-driven approach.

Responsibilities include building a commercial reporting center of excellence, managing staffing and coaching, and aligning pricing, contracting, and technology strategy with sales

Qualifications

• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive commercial and technical experience in life sciences/biotech.
• 5+ years in managerial roles leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience in sales planning, forecasting, pipeline management, CRM systems, and process improvement within a fast-paced B2B environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Commercial Operations team across the global organization.
• Drive cross-functional process improvements (pricing, discounts, contracting) and implement new processes.
• Create a center of excellence for Commercial Reporting.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve performance across Commercial Operations.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate enabling technology for sales/marketing operations.
• Structure scalable processes and procedures for an insights-driven commercial approach.
• Contribute to hiring, training, and coaching of leadership staff and conduct sales performance reviews.
• Collaborate with HR on employee relations, coaching, and performance management.
• Determine staffing needs and recruit accordingly.
• Mentor leadership and team members to maximize execution.
• Assess and adjust sales strategies to meet company goals.
• Support lead governance and reporting handoffs from Marketing to Field Sales.
