Job summary
Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Executive Director, Chief of Staff to partner with the SVP of Global Clinical Trial Operations. You will translate priorities into focused execution, strengthen governance, and drive adoption of AI-enabled ways of working across a regulated organization.
The role requires senior-level experience in clinical trial delivery, strategic leadership, and proven ability to lead transformation with urgency and pragmatism. Hybrid work across the U.S. is possible.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of clinical trial delivery experience.
- Master's degree with 8+ years of clinical trial delivery experience.
- Ph.D. or doctorate with 6+ years of clinical trial delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Translate enterprise and GCTO priorities into clear execution plans with measurable outcomes.
- Lead risk governance and annual priority setting with senior leadership reporting.
- Drive modernization using AI, automation, predictive analytics, and other digital capabilities.
- Align priorities across functions and develop executive communications and engagement materials.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performing culture with disciplined execution.
