Job summary

Coface in Princeton, NJ seeks a Claims Adjuster to manage, evaluate and resolve insurance claims in line with policy terms and Coface guidelines. You will investigate, assess coverage, analyze data and make timely, fair indemnity decisions while maintaining high client satisfaction.

Open to candidates in Princeton, NY or Hunt Valley, MD with 4–7+ years of experience, a valid adjuster license preferred, and strong skills in Excel, negotiation and communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
• 4–7+ years of claims adjusting experience or similar role within the insurance industry.
• Valid adjuster’s license strongly preferred.
• Industry knowledge: credit insurance, credit practices, business law, insolvency procedures, and related documentation.
• Results-oriented with ability to meet targets and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze claim documentation to determine coverage eligibility.
• Investigate claims and evaluate supporting data to ensure accurate decisions.
• Communicate findings and negotiate outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Escalate and propose next steps for claims exceeding delegated authority.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim reserves using internal systems.
• Prepare and process indemnity payments in a timely manner in accordance with delegation levels.
• Collaborate with legal advisors, underwriters, and other experts on complex claims.
• Provide documentation to support debt collection efforts or legal proceedings.
• Continuously monitor the status and progress of all assigned claims.
• Identify recovery opportunities, including subrogation, and maximize recoveries.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting
