Job summary

Virginia Transformer Corp in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Global Category Manager to drive strategic spend categories for transformer components and materials. You will own sourcing strategies and long-term supplier partnerships to ensure cost competitiveness and reliable supply for production growth.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in sourcing in manufacturing, strong negotiation and analytics, and experience with ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business required.
5+ years of sourcing and category management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience negotiating global supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel / data analysis.

Responsibilities

Drive category strategies and supplier partnerships aligned with business goals.
Lead supplier negotiations, contracting, and cost reduction initiatives.
Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies to optimize total cost and reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and operations to support production demand.
Monitor supplier performance and mitigate supply chain risks.
