Job summary

Chobani is seeking a Principal Engineer, Capital Projects to lead complex capital initiatives across our manufacturing network. This role reports to the VP of Engineering & Project Management and directs a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and vendors from concept through commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in manufacturing/processing tech, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Manufacturing and Process Technologies, with Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods experience.
• 10 years developing engineering strategy to support manufacturing environments.
• 7+ years managerial and leadership experience over multiple engineering functions.
• 7+ years of project management experience including scheduling and budgets.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial, or process preferred).
• PMP certification or equivalent project/program management training preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and MS Project; familiar CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Willingness to travel; strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Capital Critical Planning initiatives and develop multi-year capital project plans.
• Coordinate work between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment.
• Ensure work adheres to company, contract, and client requirements and schedules.
• Identify critical risk equipment and develop mitigation plans to prevent failures.
• Collaborate with maintenance on improvements impacting production, EH&S and maintenance.
• Drive manufacturing process improvements across plant teams.
• Provide leadership in staffing, development, and performance management of staff.
• Set a positive leadership example and promote constructive employee relations.
• Communicate project status with timely reports to senior management.
• Develop and approve master engineering project documents, drawings, data sheets.
