Job summary

Quantum Design in San Diego, CA seeks a Master Scheduler to lead production planning across multiple product lines in a semi-custom, build-to-order environment. You will translate customer demand into executable schedules that balance delivery commitments, inventory targets, resource availability, and operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations management, engineering, or related field.
• Five years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and managing master production schedules in build-to-order or make-to-order environments.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, forecasting, capacity planning, and MRP.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule for all product lines.
• Convert customer demand, forecasts, and business objectives into actionable production plans.
• Establish and build plans and inventory strategies that support delivery requirements and goals.
• Open, schedule, and reschedule manufacturing jobs based on priorities and resources.
• Maintain production forecasts and adjust plans to changing requirements.
• Manage inventory targets, safety stock, and overall strategy.
• Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and commitments.
• Review BOMs to verify manufacturability and planning requirements.
• Partner with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Collaborate with Sales to understand demand and communicate schedules.
• Work with Engineering on new product introductions and planning requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations to align capacity with priorities.
• Support demand planning, scenario planning, and capacity assessments.
• Evaluate risks and develop alternative plans to mitigate constraints.
• Monitor schedule performance and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
