Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking a Scientific Project Manager to support the Global Brain Observatory’s ambitious, multi-year program. You will coordinate scientific projects, oversee open data releases, and collaborate across scientists, engineers, administrators, and funders to drive complex, data-driven brain research initiatives.

You will work with a global network of laboratories, contributing to program management, budgeting, and reporting while promoting open science and community

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, biological sciences, engineering, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of project management experience in a scientific or technical environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with scientists, engineers, and non-specialist audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project plans, milestones, and timelines for GBO using best practices and tools.
• Coordinate execution of deliverables across engineering, experimental, and data teams from platform build-out to data collection.
• Manage community engagement through proposals, review panels, and workshops with partner laboratories.
• Organize meetings, track decisions, and maintain shared documentation; monitor budgets and timelines.
