Job summary

Takeda is seeking an Associate Director, Global Biomarker Lead, Inflammation, GI2 TAU in Cambridge, MA. You will provide scientific leadership for translational biomarker strategies from discovery through clinical development, leading the Translational Sub-Team and partnering with GI-DDU and cross-functional teams to identify and implement biomarker candidates for patient trials.

Qualifications

• PhD in a scientific discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep expertise in translational biomarkers and multi-omics approaches within immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.
• Demonstrated expertise in biomarker discovery, biomarker development, and translational medicine, as evidenced by publications, regulatory submissions, and/or national or international presentations.
• Excellent understanding of drug development, regulatory processes and clinical development.
• Proven leadership ability, including experience leading teams within a matrix organization and working independently.
• Strong analytical, oral and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with discovery research and physician scientists to design translational research identifying and validating biomarkers for mechanism of action and drug response.
• Lead translational biomarker strategy development and execution for the clinical stage portfolio and biomarker endpoints in early trials.
• Lead the Translational Sub-Team with matrix leadership across multiple functions to build consensus around biomarker strategy.
• Represent translational and biomarker research on project teams to support biomarker strategy across development phases.
• Contribute as a key member of project teams providing strategic and scientific leadership for program progression.
• Implement fit-for-purpose validation for clinical biomarker assays with high-quality data.
• Maintain knowledge of external translational biomarker efforts and collaborations.
