Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a Chief Bank Portfolio & Balance Sheet Hedging Manager to lead the global Treasury investment portfolio and structural hedging program. This senior role partners with ALM, Liquidity, Capital, Finance, and Risk to optimize NII, liquidity, and risk within regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include strategy development, governance, and execution across asset classes, hedging, and performance analytics, reporting to the Treasurer.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Treasury, bank portfolio, or ALM leadership.
• Experience in large U.S. or global banking institutions preferred.
• Proven ability to lead investment and hedging programs.
• Deep knowledge of fixed-income markets and derivatives.
• Strong understanding of balance sheets, liquidity, and NII dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, construction, and management of the Treasury investment portfolio.
• Own design and execution of structural interest-rate hedging programs.
• Support NII and risk optimization with ALM collaboration.
• Ensure liquidity, capital, and accounting outcomes align with strategy.
• Communicate governance, controls, and risk positions to senior stakeholders.
