Job summary

thyssenkrupp Presta North America seeks a Project Leader to manage tk Steering Column and I-shaft projects with diverse teams across the USA, Mexico, and Europe. You will act as the CEO of the project, leading scope, budget, and schedule to meet performance targets.

A mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years in automotive, with CAD/GD&T, FEA, and DFSS/Lean Six Sigma, are required; travel up to 25% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive or a similar industry.
• Proficient in project scheduling, CAD design, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and problem-solving methodologies (5D, 8D, DMAIC, DFSS, Lean Six Sigma).
• Familiarity with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Experience in engineering statistics, DOE, design for manufacturability, AIAG automotive standards; familiarity with customer systems (WERS, Teamcenter, GPIRS, VPP).

Responsibilities

• Lead MPLC process from customer nomination through end of life for products in the portfolio.
• Manage project and product master data in Agile PLM and other PM systems.
• Oversee product/document/component releases in Agile PLM per MPLC.
• Define design data: dimensions, BOM, testing, and new testing equipment needs.
• Lead change management and document control for projects.
• Review validation plans and test results to meet targets.
• Coordinate with PD/Core engineering and suppliers on feasibility and manufacturability.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; communicate with customers and suppliers.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally as needed.
