Job summary

thyssenkrupp Presta North America in Indiana seeks a senior commercial leader to drive profitability and pricing for automotive components. You will oversee project lifecycles, coordinate with CBUM, KAM, and GPM, and steer the acquisition team while strengthening customer relationships.

The role requires strong English, travel readiness, and a background in engineering or business with automotive sales/strategy experience.

Qualifications

  • BS or master's in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Advanced Engineering Degree a plus; experience in automotive sales/strategy favored.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads commercially assigned customer projects through the entire lifecycle.
  • Lead/acquisition team and commercial lead for change management.
  • Set up profitability increase plans aligned with CBUM.
  • Define and execute countermeasures with CBUM when off-track.
  • Maintain customer network in cooperation with KAM.
  • Create, present, and negotiate quotations for new projects and changes with CBUM, GPM, and KAM.
  • Ensure accurate volume and sales price planning for assigned projects.
  • Maintain sales master data accuracy (BeeCore, CRM).
  • Contribute inputs for pre-development activities (gap2business).
  • Participate in Best Practice Sharing within the sales organization.
  • Monitor commercials to meet targets and define actions for projects.
  • Drive profitability targets and effective change management; travel as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive industry trends and cross-cultural collaboration.

Job description

Your responsibilities
Overall responsibility for tracking and maintaining overall profit targets for assigned projects. Responsible for a range of column, shaft, and gear systems. Plans and maintains an overview of the market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads commercially assigned customer projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Lead/driver of the acquisition team (new sourcing) and commercial lead for change management
  • Responsible for setting up and initiation of a profitability increase plan in alignment with CBUM (proactive approach)
    • For the assigned customer projects
    • Definition and execution of countermeasures if “off-track” together with CBUM
    • Challenger of the cost structure
  • Maintain and strengthen customer network in cooperation with KAM.
  • Responsible for the creation/presentation/negotiation of quotations for new projects and changes in alignment with CBUM, GPM, and KAM
  • Responsible for accurate volume and sales price planning for assigned customer projects
  • Responsible for accuracy and regular maintenance of sales master data (BeeCore, CRM…)
  • Generates inputs for pre-development activities (gap2business)
  • Active participation in Best Practice Sharing within the sales organization
  • Commercial monitoring in order to meet commercial targets and/or define actions of assigned customer projects throughout the whole project lifecycle
  • Achieving the set growth and profitability targets of the assigned customer projects
  • Implementation of the optimal decisions for tkS, on a BU level, in the product management of the customer group Definition and implementation of project-independent measures to secure profitability targets
  • Leading efficient change management, best use of opportunities to increase profitability
  • Strong knowledge of customer and internal sales processes, commercial topics, and automotive industry trends, including cost structures, markets, and strategy.
  • Broad technical understanding of the product portfolio and value chain; project management experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking, planning, negotiating, and working effectively across cultures and teams.
  • Able to perform under pressure with flexibility and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent English skills (additional languages are a plus); collaborative team player.
Salary Range for role: 105-115k
Your profile
BS or master’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration. Advanced Engineering Degree a plus. Additional experience or education in business administration is a plus. Long-term experience in the automotive sector, especially in sales and strategic matters.
