Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) seeks a Global Automation Manager to define and scale manufacturing automation across Power Solutions sites. You will lead globally, align roadmaps with ROI, and drive standardized controls, vision systems, and safe operations.

This role interfaces with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance, and IT to accelerate productivity and reduce cost. The position emphasizes leadership of global engineers, deployment of cable-assembly automation, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or similar).
• 10+ years' experience in manufacturing automation, preferably in cable assembly or electromechanical manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading global or multi-site technical teams.
• Strong hands-on understanding of automation equipment, controls, vision systems, and validation.
• Demonstrated ability to scale solutions across multiple factories.
• Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute global automation roadmap aligned with volume ramps, labor, quality and cost.
• Establish a global automation governance model with ROI-based funding.
• Define and enforce standards for automation platforms, controls, vision systems and safety.
• Lead global automation resources and site automation teams.
• Define roles, responsibilities and skills for site automation teams.
• Drive capability building through training, mentoring and best-practice sharing.
• Ensure strong execution discipline and accountability across regions.
• Lead multi-site automation programs from concept through production ramp.
• Drive on-time, on-cost, on-performance deployment of automation projects globally.
• Handoff to site teams for sustainment and continuous improvement.
• Automate cutting, stripping, crimping, welding, cable handling and assembly.
• Deploy vision-based inspection, automated testing, traceability and packing.
• Reduce defects, labor dependency and process variation with automation.
• Replicate proven solutions across sites and regions.
• Create global documentation standards and a library of solutions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance, IT.
• Support NPI with automation-ready process designs.
• Present automation progress and ROI to senior leadership.
