Job summary

AbbVie in Irvine, CA is seeking an Asset Strategy Leader who will guide the development of comprehensive asset and brand strategies across discovery to end of life. The role requires broad enterprise-level thinking and strong cross-functional collaboration to optimize portfolio value.

The candidate will influence governance, coordinate with multiple functions (Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access) and manage resources to ensure timely milestones while aligning with product profiles

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree highly preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years in a pharmaceutical/biotech setting with leadership experience; 10+ years preferred.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership, and ability to influence across functions.
Experience in multiple asset development stages and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Chairs Asset Strategy Team and serves as enterprise leader for asset strategy.
Leads development of integrated Global Asset Strategy and Brand Strategy across development to lifecycle.
Maintains governance alignment with cross-functional groups and external partners.
Ensures strategy is aligned with Target Product Profile and PDP while monitoring budget and resources.
Provides Go/No-Go decisions and communicates with Pipeline Governance and senior management.
Collaborates with Global Commercial, Regulatory, Value & Access and other teams to optimize asset value.
