Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a senior leader to act as COO for the Asset Strategy Team, translating disease-area strategy into executable asset plans. You will drive cross-functional alignment, manage timelines and risks, and prepare governance materials.

In this role, you will mentor project planners and DTPMs, strengthen execution across the asset, and communicate strategic narratives to diverse audiences, including global partners and senior executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific, business, or technical field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environments across roles (research & development, commercial, project management, operations).
• Minimum of 3 years supporting cross-functional teams in a core function (Program Management, Commercial, Development, Regulatory, Operations).
• Demonstrated growth in strategic thinking, leadership, and strategic communication across multiple assets and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive and contribute to Asset Team strategy and execution.
• Ensure integrated evidence plans across sub-teams and governance forums.
• Coordinate timelines, milestones, and reporting with project planners and DTPMs; support strategic decision-making with analytics.
• Identify and manage asset timelines and risks with escalation when needed.
• Drive cross-functional Asset Strategy Team alignment and effectiveness.
• Prepare the AST for governance reviews and develop strategic storyboards.
• Strengthen execution excellence across the AST and ensure accurate dashboards and reports.
• Build team capability and consistency in project management practices.
• Craft clear, strategic storylines for stakeholders and governance discussions.
• Share best practices and support continuous improvement across PM roles.
