Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD from AVMA-accredited institution.
  • Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (DACVB) required or active board eligibility.
  • Ph.D. in animal behavior, comparative psychology, or behavioral neuroscience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide global scientific leadership in animal behavior and welfare across sites.
  • Develop and maintain a framework for behavioral welfare assessment and enrichment.
  • Translate research into practical programs and standards to reduce stress and improve welfare.
  • Lead a team of three behavior technicians and one behavior scientist.
  • Partner with veterinarians, researchers, IACUCs, and Global AW leadership to advance program goals.
  • Oversee design and delivery of behavioral intervention programs and data collection.
