The Director, Applied Behavior Research at the ASPCA leads the design and development of internal animal behavior and welfare research focused on shelter dogs and cats. This senior role requires collaboration across teams, program management, and translating findings into real-world practice.

You will oversee research projects, mentor staff, and contribute to both internal and external dissemination. Travel up to 15% and remote flexibility are included in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in animal behavior field required.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional research experience (post-PhD) required.
• Experience writing peer‑reviewed scientific publications required.
• Leadership experience required, such as managing, mentoring, coaching and/or training others.
• CAAB certification or ability to become certified within one year of hire.
• Dr. Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling™ certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
