Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking an AI Cybersecurity Director to lead security, risk management, and governance for AI/ML/LLM systems across our environments. The role is based in Denver, with a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 flexible).

You will drive enterprise AI security strategy, incident response, and compliance with standards including ISO 42001. Responsibilities include governance for AI detection, data protection, authentication, encryption, and telemetry, plus leadership across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, security architecture, or risk engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience securing data pipelines, APIs, cloud platforms, and ML-enabled systems.
• Strong understanding of identity, access management, encryption, logging, and secure system design.

Responsibilities

• Establish enterprise governance for AI security across business units.
• Define and enforce security architecture standards for AI platforms across environments.
• Provide security design oversight for AI systems including data pipelines and APIs.
• Define enterprise methodology for AI security assessment across applications and workflows.
• Ensure AI architectures enforce least privilege, and fail-safe operation in OT-adjacent environments.
• Establish AI-specific incident response playbooks and lead responses to AI incidents.
• Enforce controls preventing unauthorized model retraining or live production data use.
• Define security requirements for explainability and output validation in AI influence areas.
