University of the People is seeking a Lead Public Relations & Strategic Communications professional to design and drive AI-enabled PR initiatives across global media and thought leadership channels.

You will collaborate with the President and senior leaders to craft compelling narratives, monitor trends, and build scalable AI-powered communications systems that elevate UoPeople’s visibility and reputation worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 2-4 years of progressive experience in public relations, strategic communications, media relations, or thought leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to improve communications, content development, media engagement, research, or audience targeting.
• Knowledge of the global media landscape and experience cultivating media relationships and securing impactful coverage.
• Exceptional storytelling, narrative development, and executive communications capabilities, including leveraging AI for content creation and optimization.
• Experience in higher education, EdTech, technology, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead UoPeople’s AI-powered public relations and strategic communications function by designing and implementing AI-enabled workflows, tools, and agents.
• Identify and pursue strategic communication opportunities by leveraging AI to monitor trends, conversations, influencers, journalists, and platforms.
• Partner with the President and senior leadership to develop narratives, thought leadership, executive communications, and media pitches.
• Build and maintain relationships with media, journalists, and strategic partners to ensure visibility in high-impact conversations.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and practices to optimize content performance and outcomes.
• Apply AI tools, automation, and agents to enhance public relations, media intelligence, and content strategy.
• Shape storytelling and content strategy to accelerate research, refine messages, and personalize communications.
• Develop strategies for media relations and reputation building in alignment with institutional goals.
• Translate trends and data into actionable opportunities with measurable outcomes.
• Foster innovation and continuous learning to advance communications effectiveness.
