Job summary

CAE USA Inc. delivers flight training in simulators and classrooms under CAE-approved curricula to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Instructors lead client training and may become Training Center Evaluators (TCE) after 1.5+ years based on business needs.

Qualifications include an unrestricted ATP certificate and PIC Jet Type Rating; CFII/MEI experience is recommended. A 2-year training commitment applies. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

  • Must travel during the first six months of employment for training, which may take place at locations within the United States or internationally.
  • Hold or meet qualifications to receive an unrestricted ATP certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC Jet Type Rating.
  • Prior Part 142 TCE experience recommended.
  • CFII/MEI experience recommended.
  • A passion for teaching others through strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency - Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
  • Must participate in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.
  • The proven ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels, both spoken and written.

Summary

Responsible for the delivery of flight training in a flight simulator and ground school in accordance with the appropriate regulatory agency, CAE approved curriculum, and customer requirements. Act as subject matter expert (SME) ready to lead client(s) through their training. After 1.5+ years, per business needs, designated Instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides simulator/flight or classroom instruction on one or more aircraft types as assigned for the issue of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Responsible for conducting pre and post flight simulator briefings in a thorough, professional manner in accordance with CAE standards.
  • Other required administrative duties (completes training records, recommends remedial training when necessary, track his/her own instructional qualifications and activity, etc.).
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in creation of curricula and courseware when required.
  • 2-Year Training commitment is required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • This role requires travel during the first six months of employment for training, which may take place at locations within the United States or internationally.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship Requirement

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery.
  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
  • Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone and fax.
  • Physical stamina and stature required to maintain composure in airplane seat while wearing parachute during aerobatic flight profiles.
  • Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.
  • Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
