Job summary

CAE Simuflite in Orlando, FL seeks an experienced CJ3 Instructor Pilot to deliver flight simulator and ground school training to clients. You will guide trainees through CAE-approved curricula, ensuring FAA compliance, professional documentation, and exceptional customer service.

The role requires ATP with PIC type rating, 3,000+ hours, and teaching experience. The position may involve international travel and ongoing curriculum development as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; 3,000+ hours total flight time.
  • ATP certificate with PIC type rating; unrestricted US work authorization.
  • Teaching or training experience is preferred; strong customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school training per CAE curriculum and regulatory standards.
  • Guide clients through all phases of their training as SME.
  • Provide simulator, flight, and classroom instruction for licenses, type ratings, and qualifications.
  • Conduct pre- and postflight briefings and maintain training records.
  • Support curriculum development as SME when required.
  • Aspire to become Training Center Evaluator and contract check airman after 1.5+ years.

Job description

Overview

As a CJ3Instructor Pilot at CAE, you will play a key role in developing confident, highly skilled pilots through world-class simulator and ground school instruction. You will lead clients through training using CAE-approved curriculum, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and maintaining exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with regulatory standards, CAE curriculum, and customer requirements.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) guiding clients through all phases of their training.

  • Provide simulator, flight, and classroom instruction for licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.

  • Conduct thorough, professional pre and postflight simulator briefings.

  • Complete required administrative tasks, including training records, remedial training recommendations, and monitoring instructor qualifications.

  • Support curriculum and courseware development as an SME when required.

  • After approximately 1.5+ years, and based on business needs, qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

  • Participate in training programs that may include international travel and extended stays.

  • Uphold a professional, welcoming learning environment and tailor training to diverse customers.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with CAE and FAA requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or state-issued equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred).

  • 3,000+ hours of total flight time.

  • 2-5 years of job-relevant experience.

  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Must be authorized to live/work in the United States.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.

  • Ability to participate in CAE's DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.

  • Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate and one unrestricted PIC type rating.

  • Excellent fluency in English (spoken and written).

  • Strong listening and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Existing instructor qualification or type rating.

  • FAR Part 135 experience.

  • CJ3 Type Rating.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to deliver "red carpet" customer service.

  • Ability to tailor training to diverse customer needs.

  • Keen attention to detail and strong recordkeeping skills.

  • Previous experience as 142 Instructor and/or Training Center Evaluator.

  • Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.

  • Occasionally move into various positions, including confined spaces.

  • Remain in stationary positions for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).

  • Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks.

  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasionally perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.
