Qualifications

Glazing Project Manager / Estimator

Location: Fredericksburg, VA

Job Type: Full-Time

A well-established commercial glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join its team in the Fredericksburg, VA market.

The company specializes in commercial glass and glazing projects, working with general contractors, developers, architects, and owners across a range of commercial construction projects.

This is a hands-on position combining estimating, project management, client coordination, and project execution. The successful candidate will be involved from the initial bid through project completion, ensuring projects are accurately priced, properly coordinated, and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for commercial glazing projects.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, bid documents, and addenda.
  • Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
  • Price storefront, curtain wall, entrances, windows, glass, and related glazing systems.
  • Manage awarded projects from contract through completion.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, material procurement, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, costs, and profitability.
  • Coordinate closely with general contractors, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and field installation teams.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Identify project scope, exclusions, risks, and potential change-order opportunities.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain regular communication with customers and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are ordered and delivered in line with project schedules.
  • Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while supporting future business opportunities.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial glazing estimating and/or project management.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial glazing systems, including curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows, and architectural glass.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with takeoffs, estimating, pricing, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and bids simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant estimating/project management software.
