Job summary

Build Group is seeking a Glazing Project Manager in California to oversee high-quality façade, curtain wall and glazing system projects from start to finish. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and owners/developers to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in façade-related engineering, a solid understanding of building envelopes, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil, mechanical, architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years in façade, curtain wall, or glazing system engineering in design-build/design-assist.
  • Strong understanding of building envelope design, structural behavior, waterproofing and thermal performance.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling; familiarity with façade testing standards (ASTM, AAMA, NFRC).
  • Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and fabricators through design, procurement, and installation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees design development and coordination of curtain wall/glazing systems; leads multiple projects and supervising engineers.
  • Comply with federal, state, local building codes and regulations; uphold safety and quality.
  • Manage relationships to determine project specifications, resolve conflicts, and support success.
  • Establish project schedule and delegate tasks based on staff strengths and experience.
  • Secure and allocate resources including permits, licenses, materials, equipment.
  • Negotiate, manage and communicate changes to contract scope, schedule and costs.
  • Plan and execute inspections, assess design compliance and quality, minimize risk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Report on compliance, quality and productivity; communicate with supervisors.
  • Be a strong team leader, develop individuals, and build cross-team synergy.
  • Complete and maintain daily logs and labor reports for assigned projects.
  • Manage and direct logistics and shipping schedules for project materials.
  • Coordinate with adjacent trades to ensure successful installation of façade systems.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Glazing Project Manager is responsible for the completion of high quality façade, curtain wall and glazing system projects on time, within budget and within scope. This role will oversee all aspects of a project from start to finish by coordinating efforts involving the internal team, subcontractors, vendors, and owners/developers. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, adjusting to changing priorities from various directives, and communicate effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the design development and coordination of custom curtain wall and glazing systems, translating architectural intent into engineered, buildable, and fully coordinated façade solutions. Capable of leading multiple projects and supervising engineers.
  • Know and comply with all federal, state, local building codes, ordinances and regulations, maintaining the highest standards for safety and quality.
  • Manage relationships with all internal and external parties in order to determine specifications of the project, resolve conflict, and support success.
  • Establish project schedule and delegate project tasks based on staff strengths, skills, and experience.
  • Secure and allocate all resources needed for the completion of the project including building permits, licenses, materials, equipment.

  • Manage and direct all logistics and shipping schedules for project materials.
  • Coordinate with and understand the technical requirements and limitations of adjacent trades and scopes to ensure successful installation of façade systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in façade, curtain wall, or glazing system engineering within a design-build or design-assist environment
  • Strong understanding of building envelope design, structural behavior, waterproofing, and thermal performance
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling tools; familiarity with façade testing standards (ASTM, AAMA, NFRC)
  • Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and fabricators through design, procurement, and installation
  • Skilled in technical documentation, submittal review, and field problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary project teams
  • A valid driver’s license.
