Job summary

Build Group is seeking a Glazing Project Manager to lead design development and coordination of curtain wall and glazing projects. You will work with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and owners/developers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to scope.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CM, Civil Eng, Mech Eng, Architecture or related field.
  • 3+ years in façade, curtain wall, or glazing systems in design-build or design-assist.
  • Strong knowledge of building envelope design, structural behavior, waterproofing, and thermal performance.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, and fabricators.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling; familiar with façade testing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design development and coordination of curtain walls and glazing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and owners/developers.
  • Establish project schedules and delegate tasks based on team strengths.
  • Manage resources including permits, licenses, materials, and equipment.
  • Negotiate changes to contract scope, schedule and costs.
  • Plan inspections and assess design compliance and quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Monitor compliance, quality and productivity with supervisors.
  • Lead the project team, develop members and build team synergy.
  • Maintain daily logs and labor reports for assigned projects.
  • Direct logistics and shipping schedules for project materials.
  • Coordinate with adjacent trades for successful installation.

Job description

The Glazing Project Manager is responsible for the completion of high quality façade, curtain wall and glazing system projects on time, within budget and within scope. This role will oversee all aspects of a project from start to finish by coordinating efforts involving the internal team, subcontractors, vendors, and owners/developers. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, adjusting to changing priorities from various directives, and communicate effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the design development and coordination of custom curtain wall and glazing systems, translating architectural intent into engineered, buildable, and fully coordinated façade solutions. Capable of leading multiple projects and supervising engineers.
  • Know and comply with all federal, state, local building codes, ordinances and regulations, maintaining the highest standards for safety and quality.
  • Manage relationships with all internal and external parties in order to determine specifications of the project, resolve conflict, and support success.
  • Establish project schedule and delegate project tasks based on staff strengths, skills, and experience.
  • Secure and allocate all resources needed for the completion of the project including building permits, licenses, materials, equipment.
  • Negotiate, manage and communicate changes to contract scope, schedule and costs.
  • Plan and execute inspections, assess design compliance and quality, minimize risk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Regularly confer with supervisors to monitor and report on compliance, quality and productivity.
  • Be a strong team leader, build synergy within and across the team, and develop individuals.
  • Complete and maintain daily logs and labor reports on assigned project(s).
  • Manage and direct all logistics and shipping schedules for project materials.
  • Coordinate with and understand the technical requirements and limitations of adjacent trades and scopes to ensure successful installation of façade systems.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in façade, curtain wall, or glazing system engineering within a design-build or design-assist environment
  • Strong understanding of building envelope design, structural behavior, waterproofing, and thermal performance
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling tools; familiarity with façade testing standards (ASTM, AAMA, NFRC)
  • Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and fabricators through design, procurement, and installation
  • Skilled in technical documentation, submittal review, and field problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary project teams
  • A valid driver’s license.
