Job summary

CSG Talent seeks a cost estimator who can provide profitable cost estimates for new and existing products, designs and repairs, presenting quotes to customers in Seattle according to company guidelines.

You will prepare work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specs and related documents; estimate labor, materials and time; review elements for accuracy; communicate requirements with customers and vendors; and maintain quotation records.

Job description

This position is responsible for providing reasonably profitable cost estimates for new/existing products, designs, repairs and presenting the quotes to customers in accordance with Company guidelines and parameters.

• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering and evaluating proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documentation.
• Estimate all production costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements, by taking in consideration the cost of raw materials, labor, equipment, tools and transportation as the basic factor for cost estimates.
• Review estimate elements for adequacy, uniformity, and completeness, ensuring cost-based accuracy, as well as timely preparation of relevant documentation in accordance with Company standards and guidelines.
• Effectively communicate Company related requirements and specifications, regarding products and services, with customers and vendors.
• Monitor any change orders and communicate the price-effect of those change orders with customers. Compute cost factors and prepare itemized cost work sheets and any other required documentation and actions.
• Ensure installation is completed as required based upon the customers schedule.
• Audit comprehensive job costing results and use them to continuously improve the estimation process.
• Maintain all quotation and proposal records as required by Company policy.
