Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking an experienced Construction Bid Estimator to manage all stages of bidding for glazing projects. You will determine bid schedules, review specs, visit sites, attend pre-construction meetings, review contracts, and maintain bid calendars.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in glazing project estimation, a high school diploma or higher in Construction or Architectural Technology, and proficiency with blueprints, take-offs, Windows, Word, Excel and MS Project.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience estimating glazing projects.
• High School Diploma and college certification or an Associate's degree in Construction or Architectural Technology.
• Ability to read blueprints and architectural/structural drawings.
• Accurate take-offs and familiarity with on-screen take-offs.
• Proficient in Windows OS, Word, Excel and MS Project.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine bid schedules and maintain bid process calendars.
• Review job specifications, visit job sites and attend pre-construction meetings.
• Review contracts and communicate bid status to stakeholders.
• Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Perform labor reviews and negotiate work with clients.
• Maintain bid spreadsheets with current data and options.

Job description

The job will require all stages of bidding on projects, including but not limited to: determining bid schedules; reviewing job specifications; visiting job sites; attending pre-construction meetings; reviewing contracts; maintaining bid process schedules and communicating bid status; choosing best options for systems/materials; soliciting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotes; performing labor reviews; maintaining bid spreadsheets; and negotiating work with various clients.

• Experience in estimating projects ranging from 5 to 10 years, specifically within the glazing industry, on various sized projects
• High School Diploma and college (certification or Associates degree), in Construction or Architectural Technology course work
• Knowledge of materials, machines, tools and equipment used in the industry
• Ability to read blueprints as well as architectural and structural drawings
• Ability to do accurate take-offs; familiarity with on-screen take-offs
• Working knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
• Understanding of manufacturers' installation instructions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• High level of attention to detail and self-motivation
