Job summary

IAPMO is seeking an Estimator to review commercial glazing opportunities and produce detailed, competitive estimates in Southern California. You will interpret architectural drawings, perform takeoffs, and price labor, materials, and subcontractors while coordinating with architects, contractors, and vendors.

Role requires 3+ years in glazing estimation, strong knowledge of glazing systems, and experience with takeoffs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating experience in commercial glazing, architectural glass, curtain wall, storefront, or related subcontractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial glass and glazing systems, materials, hardware, and installation requirements.
• Experience completing takeoffs and pricing from architectural drawings and specifications.
• Ability to develop complete estimates including labor, material, equipment, and vendor pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify scope discrepancies and risks before bid submission.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specs, addenda, and bid documents to determine glazing scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for glass, framing, storefront, curtain wall, doors, entrances, rails, canopies, and related glazing systems.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for accurate estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing for glass, aluminum, hardware, and specialty materials.
• Coordinate with general contractors, architects, owners, vendors, and internal teams throughout preconstruction.
• Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, alternates, and value-engineering options.
• Assist with project handoff to project management after award.
