Job summary

Combined Selection Group Ltd is seeking an Estimator for Glass & Glazing to drive accurate project estimates from planning to bid. You will read and analyze construction blueprints, perform quantity take-offs, and review project scope to produce reliable estimates.

You will leverage in-house historical cost data, solicit and negotiate vendor quotations, and collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and the project team.

Qualifications

• Read and analyze construction blueprints (plans and specifications).
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from plans, specs, or conceptual information.
• Review, interpret and estimate the scope of work described in project documents.
• Utilize in-house historical cost data and apply costs as directed by Estimating Director.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendor quotations to meet contract documents.
• Develop subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate scope changes based on updated bid documents.
• Assist project manager with change order estimates.
• Collaborate with team members.
• Participate in value engineering reviews.
• Negotiate construction cost estimates with other parties.

Responsibilities

• Establish estimates from planning through bid-out stage.

Estimator - Glass & Glazing

This position will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and others as required to establish accurate estimates from the planning stage through the project bid-out stage.

• Understand and be able to read and analyze construction blueprints (plans, specifications).
• Perform accurate quantity take‑offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information.
• Review, interpret and accurately estimate the scope of assigned work as described in the project documents.
• Utilize and manage in‑house historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy. Apply costs and rates as provided by the Director of Estimating.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendor quotations to ensure the quotes meet contract documents.
• Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate changes in scope based on updated bid documents.
• Assist the project manager in providing change order estimates.
• Work and collaborate with team members.
• Participate in value engineering reviews.
• Participate in negotiating construction cost estimates with other parties.
