Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking an estimator with glazing industry experience to manage all stages of bidding for construction projects. You will determine bid schedules, review specifications, visit sites, attend pre-construction meetings, review contracts, and maintain bid timelines.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of glazing project estimation, strong reading of blueprints and take-offs, and solid skills in Microsoft Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating glazing projects 3–5 years on diverse sizes.
• High School Diploma and college certification/Associates in Construction or Architectural Technology.
• Knowledge of materials, machines, tools and equipment used in the industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and architectural/structural drawings.
• Ability to perform accurate take-offs, familiarity with on-screen take-offs.
• Proficient with Windows, MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
• Understanding of manufacturers' installation instructions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Perform bid stages: schedule, specs review, site visits, pre-con meetings, contract review, bid status.
• Maintain bid process schedules and communicate bid status.
• Select best systems/materials options; solicit and review quotes from vendors/subcontractors.
• Perform labor reviews and maintain bid spreadsheets.
• Negotiate work with clients.

The job will require all stages of bidding on projects, including but not limited to: determining bid schedules; reviewing job specifications; visiting job sites; attending pre-construction meetings; reviewing contracts; maintaining bid process schedules and communicating bid status; choosing best options for systems/materials; soliciting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotes; performing labor reviews; maintaining bid spreadsheets; and negotiating work with various clients.

• Experience in estimating projects ranging from 3 to 5 years, specifically within the glazing industry, on various sized projects
• High School Diploma and college (certification or Associates degree), in Construction or Architectural Technology course work
• Knowledge of materials, machines, tools and equipment used in the industry
• Ability to read blueprints as well as architectural and structural drawings
• Ability to do accurate take-offs; familiarity with on-screen take-offs
• Working knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
• Understanding of manufacturers' installation instructions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• High level of attention to detail and self-motivation
