Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking a Construction Estimator in Denver, CO to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, PMs and contractors to produce accurate estimates from planning through bid-out. The role requires proficiency in reading blueprints, performing quantity takeoffs, interpreting project documents, and negotiating with vendors and subs.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from plans or conceptual info.
• Review and interpret the scope of work from project documents.
• Utilize historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendor quotations for contract documents.
• Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate changes in scope per updated bid documents.
• Assist project manager in providing change order estimates.
• Collaborate with team members across disciplines.
• Participate in value engineering reviews and cost negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/plans and specifications to extract accurate quantities.
• Perform takeoffs and help prepare detailed estimates for bids.
• Review project documents to determine the scope and required resources.
• Use in-house historical cost data to refine estimates.
• Solicit and compare vendor quotes to meet contract documents.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assess scope changes and update estimates accordingly.
• Assist PM with change order cost estimates.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure bid accuracy.
• Participate in value engineering discussions to optimize costs and outcomes.

Job description

This position will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and others as required to establish accurate estimates from the planning stage through the project bid-out stage and is required to have the following skills:

• Understand and able to read and analyze construction blue prints (plans, specification).
• Performing accurate quantity take offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information.
• Review, interpret and accurately estimate the scope of assigned work as described in the project documents.
• Utilizing and managing in-house historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy. Apply costs and rates, as provided by Director of Estimating.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendors quotations to ensure the quotes meet contract documents
• Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate changes in scope per updates bid documents.
• Assist PM in providing change order estimates.
• Work and collaborate with Team Members
• Participate in Value engineering reviews.
• Participate in negotiating construction cost estimates with other parties.
