Job summary

Cook & Boardman, LLC is seeking an installer to install aluminum storefronts, curtain walls, entrances, and related glazing, hardware, and caulking at project sites across the region.

You will follow field supervisor instructions, work with others or solo, and ensure quality workmanship while complying with safety and warranty requirements. Travel ~25% is required, and lifting heavy items is common.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some installation experience with doors, frames, and hardware products, or Division 8 products.
• Clean driving record and at least 21 years old required.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation of more technically advanced or demanding architectural grade products.
• Follows manufacturer direction and warranty requirements when installing products.
• Tracks time and materials as required for each installation project.
• Maintains all equipment in good working order and reports malfunctions to field supervisor.
• Trains entry level technicians on proper installation techniques and methods.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Provides quality customer service.
• Attends trainings to learn new building materials and installation methods as required by location management.

Job description

This position will involve the installation of aluminum storefronts, curtain walls, and entrances as well as associated glazing, hardware, and caulking.

Essential Functions

• Follows instructions from field supervisor regarding installation of aluminum products such as: storefronts, doors, curtain walls, and associated glass and hardware
• Works independently and with other installers to install Division 8 products as assigned and trained
• Responsible for installation of more technically advanced or demanding architectural grade products
• Follows manufacturer direction and warranty requirements when installing products
• Tracks time and materials as required for each installation project
• Maintain all equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions to field supervisor
• Train entry level technicians on proper installation techniques and methods
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• Provides quality customer service
• Attends all training to learn new technology of building materials and installation methods as required by location management
• Travel as required to perform essential functions (approximately 25%)
• Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• Some installation experience with doors, frames, and hardware products, or Division 8 products
• Clean driving record and at least 21 years old required
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level and other required tools for installation required
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Excellent written and verbal skill required with the ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions

Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 50-100 pounds.

Requires driving or traveling to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting.
