Job summary

George Washington University Capital Medical Group in Washington DC is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Glaucoma Ophthalmologist to join a highly regarded academic ophthalmology program. You will perform glaucoma procedures, educate residents and medical students, and contribute to emergency department coverage in a collaborative, well‑supported environment.

The position offers high volume practice opportunities, a strong teaching component, and a mix of 8 am–5 pm with shared call in

Qualifications

• Fellowship trained in Glaucoma required or strongly preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
• DC licensure eligibility is required.
• Academic teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide glaucoma laser and incisional procedures and cataract surgeries.
• Educate medical students and ophthalmology residents through didactics and clinical/surgical encounters.
• Contribute to coverage of GW Hospital Emergency Department; call is shared and paid per night.

Education

Fellowship trained in Glaucoma

Board Certified or Board Eligible by AB Ophthalmology

Eligible for licensure in DC

Academic setting experience preferred
