Job summary

The George Washington University Capital Medical Group in Washington, DC seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join a respected academic ophthalmology program. This role blends high-quality clinical care, cataract surgery, and hands-on teaching within a thriving academic environment.

Candidates will educate residents and medical students and may take on leadership opportunities, with Epic as the EMR.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
• Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
• Academic setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmology care including complex cataract surgeries to a diverse patient population
• Educate medical students and ophthalmology residents through didactics and clinical/surgical encounters
• Contribute to the coverage of the GW Hospital Emergency Department. This call is shared with the other members and paid per night.
