StatLab is hiring for a Glass Operator – Level 1 in Arlington, TX. The role involves operating and monitoring cover glass manufacturing equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will read production paperwork, perform inspections, and collaborate with teammates to meet daily goals.

Position starts at $20–$22/hour with shift differentials, potential weekend OT, and an annual performance-based raise. High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior printing experience a plus.
• Experience operating basic machinery or handling precision materials is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cover glass manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; report unsafe conditions.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure quality and specifications.
• Identify quality issues and communicate them to the Production Leader.
• Follow standard work instructions to maintain product consistency.
• Assist workflow by delivering, loading, and unloading materials as needed.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment for assembly or material handling.
• Maintain an organized, clean workspace following 5S and continuous improvement.
• Read production paperwork and computer files accurately.
• Support daily production goals related to output and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with team to resolve minor process or equipment issues.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and good communication.
• Maintain attendance and flexibility for overtime or weekend shifts.
• Cross-train in additional areas as assigned.

Job description

The Glass Operator – Level 1 is responsible for performing manufacturing and inspection activities involved in producing high-quality cover glass components for medical and precision applications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistent product quality, maintaining efficient production flow, and upholding the company’s standards for safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cover glass manufacturing equipment and workstation processes safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE; report unsafe conditions immediately to leadership.
• Perform visual inspections of materials and finished glass to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and communicate potential quality issues, defects, or abnormalities to the Production Leader.
• Follow standardized work instructions and quality procedures to maintain product consistency.
• Support workflow between workstations by delivering, loading, and unloading materials as needed.
• Use basic hand tools and production equipment to complete assigned assembly or material‑handling tasks.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace following 5S and continuous improvement principles.
• Read and interpret production paperwork, labels, and computer files accurately.
• Assist in achieving daily production goals related to output, waste reduction, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve minor process or equipment issues under supervision.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude, reliability, and effective communication within the production team.
• Maintain excellent attendance and flexibility to work overtime or weekend shifts as required.
• Perform other duties and cross‑train in additional areas as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment preferred.
• Preferred prior experience in printing applications
• Prior experience operating basic machinery or working with precision materials is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Ability to learn machine operation and product handling techniques quickly.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
• Manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate materials safely.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete documentation accurately.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work performed in a manufacturing environment; exposure to moving machinery, production noise, and temperature variations.
• Regularly required to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
• Must follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Organizational Relationships:

Reports to the Operations Manager. This position interacts with Team Members and performs a set of standard work throughout their shift.

This position starts at $20-22/hour depending upon experience. This position is eligible for shift differentials if the operator is assigned an eligible shift. Currently, we are accepting applications for A shift 6:00am-2:30pm M-F with occasional Saturday OT. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based raise.
