Job summary

SPS Corporation seeks an Estimator to independently deliver accurate estimates on time in the construction industry. Must have experience with exterior glass, interior glass, and metal panel takeoffs and vendor pricing. Eligible to work in the U.S.

and highly organized with strong software skills are required. As an employee-owned company, SPS emphasizes teamwork, timely bid submissions, and rigorous pre-bid collaboration with clients and vendors across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architectural, Engineering / Construction Management and/or equivalent experience in the construction field.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read drawings, conceptualize the building design, and systematically measure the building components.
• Highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Collect Bid Documents (Blueprints, Specifications, Scope of Work) from various sources and organize them for each project.
• Review drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and required line items for each takeoff.
• Compile a detailed takeoff of exterior glass, interior glass and potentially metal panel quantities.
• Collect material pricing and application instructions from multiple vendors; store quotes for future purchasing.
• Attend jobsite visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
• Review the completed takeoff with Supervisor to ensure timely submission.
• Read drawings, conceptualize the building design, and measure components.
• Monitor bid dates to ensure takeoff is completed on time.
• Communicate with client with questions or clarifications and organize responses.
