• About the College/Unit/Department: The Global Leadership and Development (GLAD) Program is designed to provide educational, research, and training opportunities for students, professionals, and scholars who wish to develop their leadership and professional skills in this globally connected world. The program originally began in 2006 by hosting visiting officials from Korea at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG), UGA. Since then, the program has provided research and training supports for government officials from S. Korea, partnering with colleges and universities around the world. For over a decade, the program has provided professional development opportunities and trainings for over 400 visiting scholars at UGA. Taking a holistic educational approach, the program consists of three pillars in providing an educational experience for program participants: global perspective and academic excellence with lectures and seminars from faculty in the highly ranked public and international affairs program in SPIA; professional and leadership development through internships, site visits, and networking opportunities with faculty at CVIOG and government officials in Georgia; and cultural understanding via out-of-classroom activities and field trips throughout neighboring communities and states in U.S.

• Position Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating the program and providing services for current/future partners and visiting scholars for the program. This position is also responsible for managing and monitoring program budget and expenses.

Duties & Responsibilities

Programmatic (50%)

• Prepare and develop program itineraries and schedules for the Korea (GLAD) Program and visiting scholars, including weekly lectures, seminars, workshops, and field visits.
• Schedule business meetings and events for Korean delegations and visitors.
• Provide services in interpretation and Korean translation of documents, lectures, and meetings to assist visiting scholars or while traveling.
• Accompany visiting delegation members when needed to carry out visits or training programs in order to facilitate communication and program quality.
• Provide services for visiting scholars' smooth settlement experience. (i.e., assisting with housing search, arranging airport pick-ups, and assisting with utility setup.)

Budgets and Administration (25%)

• Manage and monitor program budget and expenses
• Draft annual budget and monthly budget reports
• Create program invoices and receipts
• Collect fees and make deposits
• Maintain accounting records and documentation for the program.

Collaboration (20%)

• Promote the Korea (GLAD) Program in support of the Program Director in Georgia and in Korea.
• Network and share marketing materials with Korean and Georgia partners.
• Collaborate with other university departments and Korean partners in support of visiting scholars in the program.

Training Materials (5%)

• Assist with other training/research needs for visiting scholars. (i.e. gather data about Korean policy issues and raft reports for policy makers or internal groups.)
