Job summary

Tech Electronics in Saint Louis is seeking an Accountant II to support financial operations across its Fire & Life Safety, Security, Communications, and AV business lines. This role owns general ledger activity, performs reconciliations, and manages the month-end close to ensure accurate financial data for leadership across the Midwest and Colorado.

The position collaborates with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, and requires at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Master's degree or CPA preferred.
• Two+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Track and depreciate fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Support job costing and project accounting for installations and service contracts.
• Reconcile intercompany and interbranch transactions.
• Prepare sales/use tax returns in coordination with jurisdictions.
• Assist with external audits and documentation requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
