Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking an Accounting Manager in Dallas to ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. This role partners with the finance team to drive timely financial processing and strong internal controls under GAAP.

The ideal candidate will have a solid GL background, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver quality results. The position requires a Bachelor’s in accounting (or related field) with 3–5 years of GL experience; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Analytical thinking and research capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support Cavender’s culture and align with Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Serve as a business partner to finance and the company.
• Reconcile multiple balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with monthly close by preparing standard journal entries per GAAP and internal controls.
• Drive risk-based financial controls.
• Test design across areas to evaluate internal controls and accuracy.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis and other duties.
• Ensure compliance with local and state tax and internal policies.
• Support business partners with finance transactions, reporting, and analysis.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Finance leadership.
