Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a General Ledger Accountant in Chapel Hill, NC to own the month-end close process and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role requires SAP expertise and strong GAAP knowledge within a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and support internal and external audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements in SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience working with SAP is required.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Proficient with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and lookups.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys owning the month-end close process, and has a strong background working within SAP. As the General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial analyses, reconciling accounts, and supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting journal entries in SAP to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Performing monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Analyzing financial results and researching account variances
• Maintaining balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
• Preparing financial reports and assisting with internal management reporting
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Assisting with external audits and providing requested documentation
• Partnering with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Supporting special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives within SAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• Required experience working within SAP
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization
