Job summary

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a GIS-focused professional to support the collection, analysis, and maintenance of geospatial data. You will perform routine GIS tasks, create maps for internal and public use, and assist with field data collection using GPS or mobile GIS apps.

The role offers regular business hours at City Hall with a focus on data accuracy and developing field applications and interactive online maps. Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience handling geospatial data and maintaining GIS databases.
• Proficient in producing maps and validating data quality.
• Familiar with field data collection via GPS or mobile GIS.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain spatial data (points, lines, polygons).
• Update and manage GIS databases and geodatabases.
• Perform basic spatial analysis and data validation.
• Convert data between formats (CAD, shapefiles, geodatabases).
• Produce maps (including web maps) for internal departments and public use.
• Collect field data using GPS or mobile GIS apps.
• Maintain metadata and ensure data quality control.
• Assist staff with GIS-related requests and troubleshooting.
• Support GIS applications and tools (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
