Sedgwick County is seeking a GIS Data Specialist to manage and maintain GIS data layers, ensuring accurate mapping and documentation. The role involves client interaction, data research, and the use of ESRI software. Ideal candidates will have experience in cadastral cartography and a strong understanding of legal descriptions.

Pay:$21.54 per hour
Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, Remote

Responsible for the update and maintenance of multiple GIS data layers. Interprets complex legal descriptions. Researches land transactions and compiles parcel change information into the GIS spatial database.
Produces procedural documentation for those particular processes under their control.
Interviews clients to determine elements of mapping requests. Fulfills requests for various mapping products.
Research, compile and enter changes in the GIS spatial database

Assists the public and fulfills requests for mapping products
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of Cadastral cartographic experience performing data compilation and entry. Previous experience with ESRI software (ArcPro) and editing feature classes. Understanding of legal descriptions and the Public Land Survey System. High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years practical use of ESRI software to include ArcGIS desktop editing tools, COGO and the use of ancillary ArcPro products to maintain cadastral data. Familiarity with ESRI Parcel Fabric. Two years of post-secondary education or training in computer aided drafting or GIS. ESRI ArcGIS Pro Foundation or Associate Certification
