Job summary

Coast Electric Power Association is seeking a GIS Technician II to maintain and update GIS mapping and facility data, while providing technical support for electric and CoastConnect operations. The role includes field verification, GPS data collection, and preparation of technical drawings.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field, experience with ESRI ArcMap and Autodesk, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field; related experience may count.
Experience with GIS, CAD, network operating systems, and plotters/printers/digitizers.
Experience with ESRI ArcMap, Autodesk, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL or similar DBMS.
Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with computers.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update GIS maps and facility information based on work orders, specifications, expansions, plats, and aerials.
Query, review, validate, and modify data using GIS and related applications.
Assist with field verification and GPS data collection for accurate facility records.
Prepare and revise technical drawings, system maps, and substation designs.
Assist with data management for national joint use notification system and Mississippi 811 updates.
Support CoastConnect GIS and mapping needs.
