Job summary

Wonderful Orchards in Shafter, CA is seeking a motivated GIS Technician with 1–2 years of geospatial experience. You will support large-scale agricultural operations by collecting, managing, and mapping spatial data for orchards.

You will work with experienced GIS professionals to create maps, perform spatial analysis, and help develop dashboards and data-driven insights for field teams while gaining mentorship and practical training in a real-world agricultural setting.

Qualifications

• Degree or in-progress work in Geography, Environmental Science, Agriculture, GIS or related field
• 1–2 years in a technical geospatial role
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Desktop and ESRI tools; proficiency with MS Office

Responsibilities

• Maintain spatial databases and create data for crop usage, acreage and infrastructure
• Create maps for field trials, project maps and planning
• Conduct spatial analysis using ArcGIS to interpret crop production and land use results
• Collect and quality-control field data using GPS devices and mobile apps
• Collaborate with farming and operations teams to provide map-based insights
• Develop user-friendly dashboards and visualizations of GIS data
• Perform other GIS and operations tasks as needed
